(ROWS) – Rescue Our Water Sources

Important public water sources in the Colne Valley and Hillingdon are being polluted with very little being done about it. For a better future, we better protect our water sources. Voices are louder together.

Affinity Water Limited has applied to the Environment Agency to vary its licence for water abstraction.
There is a public consultation on this ending on March 5th 2025. The attached link.

Blackford Public Water Source (PWS) in South Harefield is an important drinking water source for London, yet it is polluted with forever chemicals (PFAS) and can’t currently be used to supply tap water to the public.

EA should take immediate action to find and control the pollution sources of PFOA and PFOS and stop the chemicals entering and spreading in the chalk aquifer.

We want the Environment Agency (EA) to have a realistic remediation plan for the Blackford PWS to regain Good Chemical Status and to update the public on progress annually.
