HS2 Land Take

HS2 Harefield land

On 20th September 2022 HS2 Ltd and the Department For Transport gained widespread injunctions making it illegal to step on land claimed as theirs. The route-wide injunction makes it a criminal offence for anyone to enter what the company calls “HS2 land” or delay its operations.

Maps of land covered by the HS2 injunction can be found at UK Government website

The land includes hundreds of miles earmarked for the HS2 project however it also includes a lot of land outside of the HS2 Act which no-one has had the chance to object to. Revised Map book RWInjunction Part1 shows south Harefield dwarfed by HS2 land.

What access if any do the Public have?

Areas where local people walk everyday are now covered by the injunction which bars Persons Unknown entering the land. Careful study of hundreds of maps shows that all the major footpaths in the area are compromised at some point, including the Colne Valley Trail, the Hillingdon Trail, the Celandine Route and the London Loop, plus many well used footpaths such as the U24, U31, U35, U42 or the path behind Hillside on Harefield Moor.

Hillingdon Council still own much of the freehold. What safeguards can our Councillors offer local people?

Which Public spaces are safe and which footpaths can people walk, cycle or ride without fear of prosecution from HS2?

What is the future for these huge areas of land, so vast that a change of use will change the character of Harefield, Ruislip and Hillingdon for ever!

Ask your Councillors.
